Description:
Smell Begone® is a brand name for a group of odor eliminator products,
some now produced with fragrances. The line consists of Original Smells
Begone®, Odor Absorber®, Spot Master®, a spot remover. The
line extensions are the fragrances.
Objective:
To obtain greater distribution by adding different fragrances to broaden
the product lines and upgrade the packaging for all lines to sustain growth
and perceived customer value.
Program:
All product lines were reviewed and two new scents were added to The
Odor Absorber product line to give it a growth spurt by creating line
excitement and greater selection. In creating new packaging for the added
scents it became apparent that all other products had to have an updated
graphic look to stay competitive within the brand family look. Our strategy
was to create a graphic look for each product so that it would have an
imagined transfer to the scent being developed. After completion the packaging
was taken back to the buyers involved for image testing. The buyers accepted
the graphics enthusiastically. Minor adjustments were incorporated and
orders began coming in. Over the last three months distribution has increased
by nearly 1,000 stores throughout the U.S., including WalMart, Lowes,
Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens and More, etc. Momentum is on our clients
side. The strategy is right on target.
